Baseball Pitching
Machine
Kids don’t have to be professional players to use a
baseball
pitching machine. Kids just learning to carry their
first bats can have fun while learning with a good pitching
machine. Here are a couple of great models you might want to
try:
Franklin Sports MLB Pitching Machine
Any kid who can swing a bat can have hours of fun with this
Franklin Sports machine. At first glance, the pitching machine
looks more like a toy than a teaching tool. Even if you treat
it like a toy though, it can be a good first teacher for
aspiring baseball players batting for the first time. Product
heights can be adjusted depending on pitcher height. A red
light flashes every ten seconds to conveniently indicate when a
pitch is coming. The product package includes eight plastic
baseballs and a collapsible telescopic plastic bat.
For a trainer, this product can do its job just right. Balls
can go off tangent though if the machine is set on uneven
floors. Kids might be unable to make accurate hits or they
could get hit by the balls. The number of balls is also a
negative point on the product. Kids have to pick up after every
round if they want to keep on practicing after the eighth
ball.
ATEC Jet Baseball Pitching Machine
This is the baseball pitching machine to get for older kids
who need a more challenging learning tool. Unlike starter
machines, this one can throw balls up to 45 MPH and can be
adjusted to throw fly balls, ground balls and line drives.
Trainers and assistants won’t have a hard time handling this
machine too. It is at just the right height for both kids and
adults to comfortably feed the machine. It has vertical and
horizontal adjustment knobs and legs are collapsible for
convenient transport.
This model can be used both indoors and outdoors. The only
problem is that its cord is a little short. You will probably
have a hard time using this unit outdoors if there is no nearby
electric outlet.
Jugs Lite-Flite Pitching Machine
This is another model that can work well for young hitters
who are just learning to bat. It can throw both softballs and
hardballs. Even with its strongest throw though, kids are sure
they’ll never get nasty bruises.
Despite being made for kids, the machine is versatile enough
for serious trainees. It can be adjusted for curveballs,
sliders and fastballs. You can also move its swiveling base to
simulate other pitch types. The machine throws for both left
handed and right handed batters.
One limitation of the product is the ball type that can be
used. It only throws Lite-Flite balls or Jugs Bulldog balls.
Jugs balls are particularly expensive.
A baseball pitching machine isn’t exactly like the real
thing. It is the perfect training equipment for kids though
before actually getting into a real game. The best pitching
machines can enhance the right set of skills to make it to the
big league.
